Chicken Stew Mountain House
Mountain House Chicken Stew is not quite like grandmas homemade chicken pot pie filling however it is a flavorful blend of potatoes, chicken, carrots, and peas in a thick and creamy sauce. We like to take it along for cold weather camping, it warms everyone up nicely and is a good change from pasta and rice. It's getting hard to find it in mylar pouches, you might need to purchase it in the can and then pre-bag it in the appropriate size for you family.

Instructions
  1. Boil 16 ounces water, pour it into the bag, seal it up, and wait. Now, patience No matter how hungry we are, ALWAYS make sure to allow more time for re-hydration you need more than the 8-9 minutes MH suggests when at high altitude. wait at least 15 minutes. Be sure to bring some sort of measuring device along, unless you're taking the night off being a barkeep and know your counts that well in the backcountry. I measure mine out at just a small amount LESS than what MH suggests. Unless it reads "soup" on the package, don't get too crazy adding water to these meals.
